time to get serious-before holy week post
Holy Week has just started yesterday, my classes are until tomorrow for this week only. Wednesday up to Saturday, we have no classes and I am so happy for that. Yeah! GOD saved me from my professor whom I disliked, and there will be no reign of terror on that day. whew! I really don't mean to type here to discriminate people who belong to other religion. My professor in technical writing told us this morning that we all worship the same GOD, the one and only but we all do it in different ways and rituals, and we call Him in different names, we have different set of rules in every religion. Let us not argue with religion because we'll probably end up to nowhere. Well, I'm here to tell another story. Yesterday morning, Mama went out for the province with my Uncle and Aunt to see what's new with our mango farm. She left us asleep at 5:30 am and left us a kiss. I woke up at 10 am and the first thing I did was to sit again in front of my laptop and checked my accounts on social networks like Friendster,Myspace and Multiply and of course, e-mail and chatted with my online buddies. I always do the same old boring thing everyday and it makes me feel like crap. Sitting in front of the laptop is always tempting me and the screen is always "telling" me to forget to study for my next lessons in school. As an Information Technology student, the computer can be very tempting. I am not the only victim, my classmates as well. When I'm in school, my classmates and I would switch the computer and we are always as fast as bolt of lighting everytime we do that. The computer lab is our favorite room.30 minutes later in front of the screen, here comes Youtube, Friendster, and games, games and more games. Not to mention the popular role playing game called DotA. 80% of the student population, mostly males are hooked to this game. To them, if you are a guy and you don't play this, well, you are a sucker! [That's how I can perceive from them...how it feels like to be an online game player] That's how they think how cool they are. In the world of online games, they are the gods, they can do anything. ANYTHING! To them, their ordinary life is something else and if they don't play for a day, they would go weak. Last Saturday, I had witnessed all the stupidity that all my male classmates have done. While our professor was lecturing us some Assembly crap, they were all playing DotA. All eyes are on the screen, not minding what she [the professor] was talking about. How terrible. Her voice was about to get husky and she was sounded tired while she was talking, but no one even bother to care. Terrible. Maybe they don't want to spend their money on the pc shop, so they were doing it at the laboratory so they could save money from playing, nice tactic, gentlemen! There is time for everything! I can still remember what my fifth grade teacher told us. Most students nowadays don't see what is the purpose behind why they are studying in school. They think that other things mean to them more than studying, they are putting it aside. Nowadays, the number of the students who are really studying stand out in few numbers. There is a big contrast between the past and the present situation, the longer it takes, the worse it becomes. It is like a disease uncured. There are so many opportunities set for all of us, once we take them, we tend to abuse them. For example, when our parents give us independence because we are already grown up. Right? We abuse the opportunity, that's why there are many teenagers who smoke, drink (What else?) do any illegal thing. Call me "PRETENDING-TO-KNOW-EVERYTHING-IN-THIS-WORLD". I might receive some hate comments or someone out there might find me and shoot me when he/she is done reading this. You know, what I am talking about is the sad REALITY. Now I know the reason why my parents are so overprotective of me, well because they don't want me to be one of those teenagers out there. They want me to have a good future ahead of me. I used to complain before, but now, it's okay. I have to comply with my parent's rules. Okay, so back with the real story, after I checked all my accounts online, I watched TV, I wanted to see Manny Pacquiao's fight but I missed it, and some person from the neighborhood was telling us that he won the fight over Manuel Marquez. It was live from Mandalay Bay and was broadcast all over the world. Maybe it's on the Youtube now. But I am not determined to see it anymore, because that neighbor already told us EVERYTHING! he/she spilled everything out! sheeezzz!~ I wasn't able to see it because my sister and cousin was watching a movie. After that TV crap, I slept from 12 to 3pm and I woke up feeling heavy, my head felt so heavy. "OMG! I never knew that my brain could be so heavy like a boulder!" hahaha! what a joke! I got back again on my laptop and edited some pictures of mine, since productivity is better when you are bored. ...so, that's it. I did whatever can be done, and I was still bored. I fooled around and it wasn't worth it, I made our helper happy and I wasn't yet satisfied. Our supper was hash browns and hotdogs with rice, and it made me happy. :) Mama got back at home at 8pm and she brought 1 1/2 crate of mangoes. They are green but they aren't Indian mangoes. I like Indian mangoes better than the yellow ones, the yellow ones are good for juice only. Mama is the best when it comes to cooking, baking and making juices, that's the reason why I am fat. I am standing 4'11" and have the worst body figure for a teenager. I am the fattest person in our section, but according to my classmates, I am just chubby, but in the sad reality, i'm already obese. They find me cute, and I think no one would think that I am really an 18 year old. We went to the bedroom to get some sleep at 11pm, but my sister switched on the TV and watched again a movie. The movie this time is a good one. You know the movie SIGNS? It's about the UFOs that destroy corn fields then make perfect circles. I watched a part of it. I turned off the TV at 1am. I woke this morning feeling like I still want to sleep, but I have a class. So, that's it. Have a blessed holy week to all. :) and oh, no offense, okay. Playing games is good but if you abuse it, it sucks! |
