Recent Favorite Bands/Musicians
A million thanks to Myspace, for providing music profiles. These are my recent favorite bands/musicians and I'll tell you why: Circa Survive- I liked this band because the vocalist (Anthony Green) has a voice that is similar than those of a girl's voice, and he sings very well, comfortably without shifting to his normal voice. He sings just like an ordinary girl does (Soprano type). But I tell you, he isn't gay or something. The vocalist of Coheed and Cambria does this thing too. I don't know if there are people who confuse Saosin with Circa Survive because their voices are 99% same. rofl. Modest Mouse-My friend told me about this band when he was singing "We've Got Everything". What I liked most from this band because they put humor to all their songs, I thought at first if these guys were former comedians or are they just super happy individuals. Porcupine Tree-My favorite songs from them are "Fear of the Blank Planet","My Ashes", and their longest track from their new album: "Anesthetize". Royksopp- Because of their unique beasts and brilliant use of those controls "frequencies". I am not really into techno/dance music, but when I found this out through myspace, my world was spiced up with their music. Sigur Ros- It has been on my playlist for 6 months and still I can't get enough of it. I have completed listening to all of their songs, even their rare tracks, and still I wanted more from them. Sprengjuhollin- I liked their track "Worry till Spring" because it's their only song written in English. And the rest of their songs are in Icelandic. Brian Eno- He is called the Father of Ambient music (Okay, I found Brian Eno's myspace page this morning and I was fascinated with his music) Brian Eno is from UK and he does real good ambient music. His music is perfect for meditation and school drama plays. He used to work with rock legends like U2. So, it's up to 7 only. Since it's Holy Week, I have to keep it up to 7 only and another reason is I have only a few songs on my iTunes Library. It doesn't have anything to do with Holy Week, okay. I am very choosy when it comes to looking for music on myspace. If the music sounds pleasant to my ears, then I'll go for it. I've had enough for mainstream, seriously. When it comes to music, I want the music to make me remind of something, like the places where I have been or the significant happenings in my life. Some kind of music has to do with Visual Arts in some aspect, or in the study of Humanities. enough said, I think I have been ranting for too long. Ciao! Will be back again on Easter Sunday or ASAP. Let us respect each other's religious beliefs and activities, and all of us together should do something for World Peace. :)
